If you are like most of us, your fitness routine is less a routine and more of a roller coaster. You set your goals and promise yourself that you will stick to your regime with the goal of getting in shape and staying in shape. Perhaps you have weight loss goals or perhaps you are wanting to just have overall good health. If you are finding that you are not reaching those goals, you may be inadvertently sabotaging yourself.
Hitting the Fitness Trail Too Hard
When you begin a fitness plan or are back working out after a break, there is a tendency to go at it with an “all or nothing” approach. Depending on your fitness level, this can prove to be very detrimental to your overall goal. Overdoing it can cause injury that may sideline you for several days or weeks. Regardless of your choice of exercise, remember that you need to start light. For example, if jogging is your preferred workout, don’t try to run 5k your first week. Also, make sure you give yourself time to recover. Do not do the same exercises every day. Mix it up. If you are doing weight training one day, do cardio the next. Read Full Article……
